Comings and goings

Finally, after weeks of thinking about it, procrastinating, reading incomprehensible manuals*, trying and failing, then emailing the manufacturer, I programmed four central heating controllers (two different types) after work today. I still have a hunch that the heating is ignoring me. Next step: work out how to wrestle the the air source heat pump under control. (I'm saving the Augean stables for later.)

*This may yet turn into a rant. Why do equipment manufacturers give manual-writing to people who a) can't write and b) already know how the damned thing works? I think I've missed my calling.
