Time for Lunch

Another idea for the "Time" topic for my photography group. A quick Google search revealed that there are 3 sundials conveniently situated in the Abbey Gardens & Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds. As the sun was actually shining today we decided to go down & have a look, only to discover that two out the three were in the shade at midday. The main Blip is the dial high up on the south-facing side of the cathedral itself. We had lunch in the cafe at the rear of the cathedral and after that found the sun had cast dappled light over the column dial, too, so that's now the Extra for today.

The column dial was originally a part of a drinking fountain, given to the town in 1871, but it's now surrounded by planters & benches. It apparently was one of the earliest dials to allow a town to convert to GMT instead of using local time.
