Sgwarnog: In the Field

Festival

The sun came out for the last day of the relaunched Bradford Festival. We took in street theatre and dance in the form of Hippochondriac and Picnic, comedy from Punk Science and music from Anjaana , Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers and finishing with the chilled sound of Jamaican band The Dynamics, on stage in this picture.

This was labelled as the Mela day, but it bore little resemblance to the huge Peel Park Melas that the City has put on before. The cuts are still showing. The square was filling up as the day wore on, but we could have had a bigger turnout for the city's flagship cultural event of the summer.

ps - Many thanks for putting yesterday's Little Fluffy Clouds onto the Spotlight page - my first spotlight of 2013.

pps - Happy Father's Day - this would have been my Dad's 83rd birthday had he still been with us. I had a bounty of four home made cards, which is not a bad haul from two children. 8yo's spelling had improved from last year, so thankfully I wasn't wished a Happy Farters Day again. 5yo is still getting used to letter formation though, so I was turned into "baddy" for the day.
