Frederick Douglass

We were a bit surprised to see this statue! We walked this area while looking at the vintage shops in Spring. All of a sudden there's a new statue!

Frederick Douglass apparently had a fondness for Belfast and visited a few times. He was invited by the Belfast Anti-Slavery Society back in 1845 and lectured across Ireland.

Certainly an interesting find!
