Friends' last night here

We have done so much in the 2 full days M & J have been here. Yesterday walked up to West Cliff, and had coffee at the Nici. Then in the afternoon to Sandbanks and a drink on the way back at our friends M & H in Lilliput. Evening N&G, our Ukranian friends who live in Toronto for 6 months a year - and sadly for us return in a few days - joined us all for dinner. We then slept like a log.

Today was so windy. They even closed the beach road in Boscombe as it was covered with sand. Had planned to walk up to Hengistbury Head and the Mudeford Beach Huts, but we'd have been blown into the sea (almost anyway).

So Plan B. Drove to Christchurch, walked round town, saw the 'Ducking Stool', along the river banks to the 'Quomps', and visited the beautiful Priory before returning to the car. Then 2pm Sunday Roasts at 'Deus ex Machina' in Boscombe (our friends loved it). Mr B insisted on they saw the Polish shop (they said it was like theirs in Czech Republic), and walked them round the nearby Czech owned, quirky Chaplins Bar.

Back home for coffee, then after dark went down the slope (blipped) to show them the 'Winter Tree Wonderland' which is on since Friday and continues till after Xmas.

Tomorrow pick them up at 9:45 am to take them to the airport. We'll all be tearful. Who knows when we will see them next.
