Let there be light

The four-poster bed in our hotel room looked nice, but had the most uncomfortable mattress that we've slept on in years - far too soft for our liking. We both woke up with backache this morning! After a very good breakfast we set off for home, but stopped near Glossop at a garden centre that we'd spotted on the way to Buxton yesterday. They had a huge selection of ceramic pots, and we bought two. There's also  a nice cafe where we had a coffee, but somehow resisted the cake!

Home to unpack, then a couple of hours working in the garden to make the most of a short spell of dry weather.

Walked in to Holmfirth later for the Charity Bal, an enjoyable evening of French dancing. Lots of friends there to dance with, and MrM didn't once make it on to the dance floor! Quelle Surprise! The whole of the town seemed to be lit up as we walked back home, though the official Christmas lights celebration isn't until next weekend.
