Bridge Relfections

We parked just off Scotswood Road and walked by the river to the Sunday Market that takes place each week on Newcastle Quayside.  A mild, dullish day with huge puddles everywhere so I presume that it must have been raining during the night.

There has been a market at the Quayside since the 1730's.  Now the market mainly sells street food, crafts, photos of Newcastle etc.  There is also a gypsy caravan (an ancestor of Gypsy Rosa Lee) to have your fortune told if you want to.

When I was a little girl I remember it selling puppies, cats, birds, fruit, veg, clothes, crockery etc.  The stall holders were real characters with the gift of the gab.  According to them their wares were top quality and you were getting the bargain of the century buying from them.  One man used to juggle his plates, cups and saucers!
