Outdoor Swimming Session

Of course I had to go to this event at the Kendal Mountain Festival. 2 hours of short films and interviews with assorted swimmers . From Jonty the first amputee to swim the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland, Yvette Tatteh an activist in Ghana who swam the length of the Volta River to raise awareness of the polluting effects of textile overproduction,  Four swimmers from the Eden Valley who swam the River Eden to observe pollution collect rubbish and Hector Pardoe in the photo. Hector; British Olympic Open Water swimmer also  beat the record for swimming Windermere this year. He talked about the effects on his body from high altitude training.  Finally   a film of the 2023 Kinder Trespass Swim.  In April on the anniversary of the original trespass in 1932 on Kinder Scout, several hundred swimmers swam in Kinder Reservoir  to lobby for open access to water bodies. A very interesting event
