After yesterday's very colourful dawn today sees a return to the more traditional colours of the British Winter* - grey and brown.  To be fair, we have had a very colourful autumn so I'm not really complaining.  The weather has also turned a little colder today.  Not that it is cold compared to places like the Great Lakes or Finland.   

This little brown job caught mid stride on the mud flats is a Rock Pipit.  I rather like pipits and enjoy taking their portraits even though they aren't the most colourful of birds.  

*I know it's not officially Winter yet, but with the opening of local Christmas Markets and a Winter Festival tonight, it is getting harder and harder to try to hang onto the last remnants of Autumn.  I'm even currently soaking the fruit for the Gluten Free version of the Christmas Cake ...
