According to Google this is a Gloeophylium, commonly know as the Yellow-red gill polypore.
It is a wood decay fungus that is often found in lumber yards. They are  growing on a fence where we walk the doggies.

Food shopping and the market this morning, one of the stall holders told Mr PC that at 7am there had been a hailstorm and the ground was white over.
