Calliandra Haemotocephala

More common names are red powder puff tree or red pom pom tree. Flowers from November to April. Its origins come from South America. 

We have a tree that stands about 15 feet and it is rare that lorikeets are not feeding from it. It presently looks like a giant Christmas tree with all the red flowers.

Light rain has been falling all day with hardly a break. Challenging for dog walking.

I watched the movie ‘Legally Blonde’ with Reece Witherspoon. Not the type of movie I would normally be interested in but I enjoyed it. It was silly and unrealistic but underneath the silliness were some serious issues.  Reece Witherspoon’s excellent acting carried the movie.
