Just Flax…..

……. In flower. I am intrigued with the different varieties of flax. The one pictured here is what I call a “Mini Flax” with its rather exotic flowers that are much smaller than its giant cousins.
We’ve had very strong winds over the last few days. Last night’s gale brought down an enormous Cecil Brunner “Sweetheart” rose. It fell away from the fence it was growing against and almost smothered hydrangeas and other shrubs. My very kind neighbours, Sharee and Brian, came over and sorted out the shambolic scene and attached the remaining rose against the wooden fence. I am very grateful for their help.
