Seriously?

Fair and foul

Woke up somewhere between 5.30am and 6am by the noise of the hail stones hitting the glass balcony doors, roof and windows and the flashes of sheet lightning across the sky. Torrential rain and hail flooded the garden and damaged building surfaces, as we were to discover in daylight, and the thunder claps overhead made the apartment shake, along with horror movie spectacular lightning flooding the sky - spectacular after the power had gone and everywhere was plunged into total darkness. As soon as she realized I was awake, Gece the garden dog came running from her inadequate shelter - she is frightened of thunder - .and she stayed with me for the rest of the night, well, most of the day in fact, along with Rufus, Harry and six garden cats.

I fell asleep again around 8am so didn't wake until 11am and it was midday before going for a walk with the woofer. By now it was calm even some intermittent sunshine, and T-shirt only warm. The sky was threatening over Akbuk, but blue elsewhere and the light was weird which I think can be seen in today's photo - giving it quite a painterly effect I thought.

Graham and I did a tour of the complex to look for any damage - found nothing serious though my back balcony did get a lot of water from a broken down pipe from the guttering. Fortunately, the caretaker got this fixed straight away so that by the time the storm started all over again late afternoon, the water ran away as it should. Repeat performance of hail, rain, thunder, lightning and a strong blustery wind, the back path is completely flooded with several inches of water that has nowhere to go. Hoping it will seep away slowly without causing any damage ....  unlike some of the local photos posted on Facebook today.

After dinner I half watched a film whilst getting everything ready for tomorrow's Christmas Fayre mentioned on where I have a table selling handmade goods - see Thursday's Blip.
