Jurassic

Despite the drizzle, we visited and greatly admired Inala Jurassic Garden, the main reason we’ve come to Bruny Island. It features plants that originated long ago in geologic time, on the super-continent of Gondwana when all the southern hemisphere continents were part of the same land mass.

My main photo today is Heath-leaved Banksia, B. ericifolia (from eastern Australia).

The Jurassic collage extra features, clockwise from top left:
Leatherwood, Eucryphia lucida, from Tasmania
Pincushion, Leucospermum glabrum, from Southern Africa
King Protea, P. cynaroides, from southern Africa
Waratah, Telopea speciosissima, from eastern Australia
And in the centre is Wollemi Pine, Wollemia nobilis, from the Blue Mountains of NSW, Australia
