Brightening up the day

Grey and cold but dry.
Blippers are well known for searching for some colour to bring life to a dull scene.
I was attracted to the contrast between the yellow shrub leaves and the grey of the limestone wall.

The walk took us to a lake where Mrs. K. wanted to check on the health of Great Fen-sedge. Cladium mariscus. This is fairly widespread in Norfolk and in parts of Northern Ireland. But elsewhere it is uncommon. It is unusual in that the base leaves, shaped like a belt, can grow up to 3 metres long. We measured one which was 2.5 metres.
Mrs.K found a number of clumps right by the waters edge and was pleased that it is doing well in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape.
