Contretemps in the pool

Another stand-off in the swimming pool this morning.

Two women from the aqua aerobic class got in the water in the middle of our swimming lesson half an hour before their time.  They had spotted a weakness. We had another new instructor, unaware of past disputes.

We complain to her.   She has words with them. They ignore her. So, we tackle them. They get huffy, quite aggressive. Trainer intervenes again. The lifeguard on duty is consulted to settle the dispute. Finally, they get out in a right strop.

I must confess to feelings of both guilt and triumph. Yes, there would have been space for them but if we allowed two in, they would soon be followed by another half a dozen from the aqua aerobics class.

Anyway, the slow lane was empty. Plenty of space there.
That was my excitement for the day.

It’s been bitterly cold today with a strong wind. and while waiting for the bus I was tempted to go back home.
So glad I didn’t. Once in the water I was fine.

Re sleeping patterns. (see yesterday’s blip) Thank you all for your comments.

It seems one in five people are not getting enough sleep. So much so that it’s been called a global silent epidemic, the result of a number of factors, primarily worry about cost of living and our uncertain future.
