Oldest - maybe?

The Hope and Anchor hotel is just down the road from where we are staying in Hobart. Established in 1807, it claims to be the oldest pub in Australia. But words can be slippery. Its actual claim is that it is the ‘oldest continuously licensed’ hotel. Another contender claims to be the ‘oldest continuously operating’ hotel.  I’ll investigate the interior during this visit to Hobart - stay tuned.
