Concertina

Today we have been cutting back the dead fronds of some palms trees. These fronds at the base are tightly held in a concertina form and so dry and brittle they ressemble folded sheets of cardboard. I have photographed a frond in black and white for today's Abstract Thursday, with thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.
