Ball of Light

Even though it was far too soon for X*s decorations I succumbed on a visit to a garden centre a week or so back and bought a glass ball light topped by a delightful penguin mother and chick.  Today I lit it up for the first time and had a play with ICM, multi-exposures, reflections,  refraction (using my glass lens ball) and the like to find a mono image for Ingeborg's Abstract Thursday challenge.

In the end, I chose this relatively straight forward image of the ornament sitting on a piece of glass on a black velvet cover viewed through the lens ball.  A square crop and cleaning up in Lightroom and Photoshop, finished the job.
