Mondongo Monday

After a long bus ride and midday arrival in cold Bs As, what better for lunch than a nourishing bowl of mondongo (which in Spain and elsewhere in the Spaninh-speaking world they call callos and in England we call 'tripe', a delicacy in Lancashire). This was in fact the first time in 18months that I have eaten mondongo - the last time was also in Bs As, and sticks in my mind as the day my backpack was stolen from under my table, causing me great hassle. Good meal - tasty, nutritious and filling, and the whole meal, with bread, wine and pudding (dulce de batata and Mar del Plata cheese), all served on a colourful if food-stained tablecloth, coming in at about £4.50.
