The Fox Inn

R and I went to The Fox for lunch.  It has recently changed hands. We received a hearty welcome and stood in front of the blazing log fire in the woodburner getting warm from the near freezing temperature outside.  R's parent used to run the pub when she was a young girl and memories came flooding back.  The thatch looks in need of attention so that must be a job for the new year.

In the evening S and I drove to a village the other side of town to make up a table for their quiz night in the village hall.  Our team came joint-second  and I won a raffle prize!

Very cold today and there was slushy snow falling for a couple of hours over midday but no whitestuff settled on the ground. The temperature this evening was 2 C.
