Winter Poppy

When I went out to read our gas and electricity meters this morning, I found this little beauty in the garden. Despite the cold and frosty conditions it has managed to bloom..it is growing from between blocks of the path alongside the house!! Dashed back in to get a camera and a light (LED panel) and fired off a couple of frames.I

I also had to smash the ice on the bird bath/water bowl again, it was very thick and I had to use some real force with a large stone to break it.

Home made mushroom soup for lunch today..a couple of extra pots made - ready to go in the freezer.
