Always said….

That I deserved a medal for managing to stay in the Civil Service for as long as I did - 2 months shy of 35 years - and today I got one :-)
It was quite humbling to listen to my old manager talk about me - sometimes thought she’d confused me with someone else… But a lot of what she said made me smile and see myself as others saw me. My sisters were there and both just nodded in agreement when she said my facial expression was always a giveaway and that she’d know from it exactly what I was thinking about whatever proposal was being put forward.
A really lovely afternoon with family and friends and tea and cupcakes :-)
