My first photo

With my new phone. I really didn’t feel like going out - it’s so bitterly cold in Bristol. This is a card sent to me by UNHCR (the United Nations Refugee Agency) to whom I send money.
The words were spoken in 1952 by the first High Commissioner for Refugees - but they were written by his father - who was a refugee from Germany earlier in the century.
I find it expresses really well the need for, and meaning of, home. I feel really ashamed of the official language and policy of our government, though I am sure most people don’t support their cruelty and deception. And I find myself increasingly grateful for my little home in a relatively safe land.
