Drake Red- breasted Merganser

A beautiful, sunny day in Orkney. I cycled along to Scapa pier for a look at Scapa Flow. There was a pod of orcas visible from there and other parts of the coast yesterday, but nothing today- later I saw reports that they were further west in the flow. A couple of humpback whales were seen too. Birds today included a great northern diver, two Slavonian grebes, long-tailed ducks, teal, wigeon and a very late chiffchaff.
