to follow this sign. There was another further downstream which was at least pointing in the direction of flow. It was this area that was badly flooded.
I had thought of going for a short run but the paths had patches of black ice so I decided not to. We did have a short walk long by the burn and back through the park after having gone to the ponds volunteering, though not much work was done. First the Ranger's van broke down so he could only bring limited equipment and then the ground was too hard for some of the jobs. We'd just started making an attempt on some work when we got a message a new volunteer has slipped on his way and thought he'd broken his arm. Some of us went to find him and his arm was very painful and I wasn't going to take off his coat for a closer look. We were able to get him up, put on a sling and walk him carefully to the nearest road so an ambulance could take him to A&E.
Mr Rat had gathered some litter but the rest of the session was abandoned, hence the time for a walk.
In the morning I'd had keep fit and then a meeting about employing a new person and what needed to be done.
