Morbid fascination

Most people seem to be intrigued by the creepy trees we noticed yesterday. We sat on the grass on Jesus Green for a picnic lunch today, and watched as nearly everyone who passed investigated the trees further, many taking photos of their own.

This photo shows the contrast between the affected trees, in their death shrouds, and the unaffected trees, in their full summer greenery.

In the foreground, a man is watering the flowers with the longest hose I've ever seen. But I missed where the tap was.

I was not entirely happy with the composition of this photo, so I cropped it, which helped a bit.
