Mother Shipton

I had a few options for today including a rather exciting sawfly, which was as big as a hornet and a first for me, but this day-flying moth won out because of its back story.
Old Mother Shipton was a 16th century witch who lived in Yorkshire. She prophesised about the future through poetry. Amongst many things she predicted the English Civil War, and the defeat of the Spanish Armada. Her image is etched onto the wings of this moth for eternity! You can clearly see her eye and hooked nose.
