James Watt, Artist

Art & Technology

Today, Aileymill PS (Greenock), Kilbowie PS (Clydebank) and St Ninian's PS (Gourock) came to the Beacon for their workshops on the painting of James Watt.

Aileymill PS were the first class today and after listening to the artist, went on to work in groups, trying out lots of different activities and ideas, and recording their responses to the paintings.

P7 Kilbowie arrived shortly after and brought with them the fantastic charcoals and pastels they have been doing, inspired by looking at the artist's paintings. He was equally inspired by their work!

And just as P7 Kilbowie PS were leaving, P7 St Ninian's PS arrived, bringing with them the amazing collage they are in the process of creating, with silk backdrop from P6 and lots of ideas for the foreground by P7.

An activity each class has been doing is to write tweets to post on the education initiative's Twitter account. The pupils in this photo are the ones who wrote the tweets for P7 St Ninian's PS. Really great to see them working as a group, happily combining art and technology.

Thank you Aikeymill PS, Kilbowie PS and St Ninian's PS!
