Four Candles

We've been to Oxford today for daughter#1's pre (big) birthday lunch at Côte. It was chucking it down as we got off our park & ride bus. We were sheltering in a shop doorway when we were approached by a woman asking if we could help her find four candles. She didn't look like a Two Ronnies trickster so I looked it up on my phone. It turned out to be a Wetherspoons, right next door to our Côte destination.

We were ahead of time so to keep dry we popped into the covered market. I got the extra there. I liked the dad and little girl walking towards me, especially their separate reflections in the shop windows.

The service in Côte was slow - we were there for 3 hours. The rain had stopped by then though so we had a walk over to the Ashmolean. This was mainly to go in the shop though we did look at some of the coin exhibits next to the shop area. There were a few interactive items and it was hard to drag the boys away. We had time for a quick walk around the outdoor market and then trekked to a speciality tea shop daughter#1 wanted to visit before going our separate ways as we had parked in different park & rides.

An enjoyable day. Nice to see the grandsons before Christmas as we won't see them again until the end of December.
