House on the Hill

The wind has died down but the rain has come in, a grey damp dark day. Himself has attached chicken wire to the two small bridges we have in the Fairy Walk so small people won't come a cropper when investigating and has trimmed the vine. I've started the clean.

I took some cards in to the post and admired as always this little house on the hill. It's a typical early 1900s labourer's cottage with pretty nice views out into the bay and fits perfectly into the landscape. It has recently changed hands and a lot of work is going on including clearing the land. It was originally painted bright red and a small section has been left rather bizarrely, where a tiny sun room was. The monkey puzzle tree has also been retained,

Joe sets off tomorrow (his time, Wednesday for us)  - Nelson, Auckland, Chicago, London, Bristol! Ooof! Two days recuperation and then Cork with Esme, and Will.
