Decorating time

Ann was in meetings most of this morning so I went out to help Martin decorate the tree on the green. Hoping the decorations will stay on! Unfortunately the lights for the tree are not working so it will just be baubles. One of the other residents came out bringing more baubles but couldn’t help decorate as she has a serious problem with her wrist and shoulder and is eightyplus! Their next door neighbour Gill noticed the action and came out to help. Martin at this stage had a ladder to get higher up but had managed all that was possible so Gill came up with the bright idea of using a litter picker to bring the branches down. As I decorated lower down I was noticing the cones and the healthy branches!

In the afternoon we went to powis castle to see their Christmas decorations and walk round a part of the gardens, half restricted because of drainage problems. No photography allowed in the house ! There is a huge range of art in the castle from 1500s to 20th century and a room full of taxidermies birds. There is a fire screen with 80 tiny birds from far flung places! The Christmas decoration from that room were all about birds so feathers on the tree! When we emerged from the house the peacocks were all heading up the steps to the entrance to catch the sun I sus.

Watched the strictly semifinal and the results show while Ann went to a meeting and Martin made dinner. An emotional watch and the right person leaving! Interesting that Craig would have chosen to save them.
