Agecroft No. 3

We're at the campsite at Whitwell Station for a couple of nights - booked because of the cross-country race which starts from here - & took S for a walk along the Marriott's Way this morning as he has to stay in the van while we run. The Blip shows one of the steam engines displayed at the station - luckily taken on the way out as it was raining as we returned. Further details of the engine can be found at: https://preservedbritishsteamlocomotives.com/robert-stephenson-hawthorn-works-no-7681-agecroft-no3-0-4-0st/

Having seen the water levels on either side of the Marriott's Way I was expecting to be posting something entitled "Diary of a Wimp" this evening, as the XC course normally crosses some low-lying meadows and a small river & I really, really didn't want to wade through the river, but the organiser's risk assessment agreed with mine & the course was re-routed to avoid that section. There was still a lot of gloopy mud in sections, but otherwise an enjoyable run.
