Winter sunshine.

Our early morning walk at the local reservoir this morning was surprisingly mild but very welcome.
Winter isn’t Darren’s favourite season, though it’s not really anything to do with weather, he actually prefers mild/cooler conditions to warm/hot conditions, it’s the long dark nights he struggles with which means more time spent inside.
This winter in particular is proving to be difficult because of his current health problem but he keeps going, relying on himself to pick up his mood when he starts feeling down. I obviously help making him feel better as all good dogs do, apart from when I’m unwell and then he worries sick about me.
The one thing he does like about winter is that you can see much more of the landscape, things that are hidden in spring and summer are suddenly visible in winter, it’s easier to spot the birds in the trees or a stretch of river normally hidden by leaves for example.
We can’t change the seasons but maybe we can appreciate the good things that each season presents to us and try and think less about what we dislike.
