Caught in the (Blip) Act...

I think this was the exact moment that fellow Blipper Feorlean realised I was capturing him for my entry today! :)

Really fascinating and heartening discussions at the National Economic Forum today, where the Cabinet Secretary was speaking along with many of his fellow Ministers and the FM. It had an extensive focus around youth employment and I was impressed by how much will exists to do all we can to get young people into jobs and started on their work life and career.

The speaker at the platform in this shot is Angela Constance MSP, Minister for Youth Employment. Her immense passion for supporting young people is so strong - and despite some good signs, she was clear that there is no room for complacency.

Two quotes have stayed with me from today. The first was Sir Ian Wood stating that there are currently 61k young people not in work or training: "That's 61 thousand young people who wake up each morning and think that society has no need for them."

The other was from education and learning guru David Cameron (not that one, the real one) who said: "What are we all here for, if not to make a difference in difficult times?"

Absolutely. What indeed.
