Chafing

Detail from an embossed copper chafing dish. Although it was made in Tehran I recall my father buying it in Istanbul in the late 1960s. We were travelling overland to London, a journey that took several weeks, by the end of which he was tired of lugging this great big copper dish and tray around. We've decided to keep it, and use the basin as a decorative plant holder. It seemed suitably seasonal for this time of year.
