Love Padlocks upon Tyne

Work's taken me up to Newcastle for a couple of days. Wandering across the High Level Bridge I stumbled on these love padlocks, the first I've seen.

This location is already on the Wikipedia list of locations with love padlocks, so I can't claim this discovery is new to science. It's at the Gateshead end and the east side of the bridge, which for those of you that know Tyneside, should be readily apparent from the view.

If you view large, you can just about see some of the inscriptions: Steve hearts Amy amongst others.
