All mod cons

I love the contrast between the ruins of a thousand year old mud village and the power cables running through the middle. The name of the village is Birkat Al Mouz. It is high in the mountains but full of date and banana plantations thanks to the irrigation channels. The channels are UNESCO World Heritage as they are believed to originate 5000 years ago. There are even little fish in the water!

We spent the morning visiting the Grand Mosque in Muscat (extra) and then exploring a previous capital of Oman, Nizwa with its Fortress and Souk.

With apologies for my lack of commenting, we will have very little free time over the next few days.
