Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

Welcome!

A welcome break from holiday stuff…we decided to go see the Puget Sound exhibition at the Burke Museum on Campus, and have a walk around there before a few errands.  Always enjoy this museum and it’s so close we can just pop in for one thing.  Lots of good information about our Puget Sound and how belonged to the Coast Salish whop now are entitled to 50% of the fish caught there.....and how  it’s being cared for and becoming healthier for sealife   The blip is the "welcome weaver" at the lower entrance lobby ..an iconic figure that has stood on the shores of the Salish Sea for generations,   A commissioned piece from 4 contemporary Salish artists,  she is wearing a woven hat (in glass) and utilizes designs from some objects in the NW Coast collection.

Too wet to walk tho..  We stopped at University bookstore and who was there but son Peter and Tatum and Fiona who got a change out of finding me looking for a book in the children’s section.  (more about that in another blip)  That was fun for us all.

A trip to a grocery for a few things (incl some gorgeous roses…that’s another blip too)  dropped off a gift, and made soup.   Enough for one good day.

A few more in extra
