Up the Wall

The tiddlers arrived - and with it being a Minky day we had plenty to keep us busy. Well, the Ratho climbing centre has a soft play area. So we treated the tiddlers to a trial session on the climbing walls (here’s H near the top of things) while Minky rampaged around the mattresses and slides. Only hiccup was when it came to her lunch - the cafe does soup (yuk) baked potato (yuk) or cheese and ham toasties (yum, she declared). Of course said toastie arrived and she took one look at it and said… yuk. I don’t like that. She’s a challenge. Not my problem, of course. I do believe her Dad was sent on a wild goose chase recently to cook her something which was made with vegetables - she told him she liked mushrooms and carrots. And he went and bought them. Ho ho ho! She took one look at it….
So, later, I shared a cab with the tiddlers as they were off to Briarbank to a house warming - a route which conveniently passed the front door of the Athletic Arms. And there was AJ, and McC the elder, MrT, MrW and Rog. What a fine evening. Pre-Christmas drams were called for. Though I do believe we’ll be back on Saturday after facing St Midden. Let’s hope we have something to cheer.
