Inclement

To John and Marina's this morning for a drink before we all headed out to the Bolster Moor for Christmas lunch. When J and A had suggested the venue, I had just assumed that it was a pub, but it turned out to be a very large and very busy café next to a farm shop. It was worth waiting for a table as the food was very good - roast turkey with all the trimmings. The farm shop proved to be excellent too, though probably not for our waistlines!

MrM and I had intended to go into Huddersfield afterwards to buy a few essential items for DIY tasks, but couldn't face it after such a large lunch, so we just came home. Later in the afternoon MrM got soaked walking into Holmfirth to post a letter, while I tackled a few things around the house.

Wild and windy out. Took the photo from the van as we were stationary, waiting for the cars in front of us to negotiated oncoming traffic on a very steep, narrow winding road. It doesn't look too bad in the Blip, but the wind was howling round the van, and horizontal rain driving across the moors...
