Finally, decorations!

Miserable weather again, but we had a nice day. J and I finally got a few decorations up in her room - her little fairly lights, and several strings of these paper decorations made from old magazine pages, some of which had some paint and glitter added before cutting out. There are Christmas trees and stars as well as the hearts and angels. She made them a couple of years ago with her PA, for a project on making decorations from re-used or recycled materials, and they have stored surprisingly well in a box.

We also watched the recent Indiana Jones film, which has just been released on Disney+ after its cinema run and was a lot of fun. I don't often allow myself the luxury of an afternoon on the sofa, but I knew she was hoping for someone to enjoy it with her, and I managed to finish a sock at the same time (though I still need to knit the second one). Harrison Ford, now eighty, was excellent; I liked a lot of the films he made in his younger days (notably Witness and Working Girl), and he's lost none of his acting ability and played his age with great confidence. The story is the usual fantastical action romp, full of jeopardy, dastardly villains, chases through narrow alleys in improbable kinds of transport, people hanging on by their fingernails... a great way to spend a wet Saturday afternoon instead of getting on with the cleaning.
