After the garage for fuel I headed to Grasmere for a wander around the garden centre. The website said it opened at 9.30.

The entrance from the car park has changed. The first small building where the gardening and bird food was has been demolished and the area covered with slate chippings. I’m sure it’s still work in progress. After taking a few photos in the the plant area I went to the automatic doors but they didn’t open. Lights were on and there were people inside though they could have been staff. Thinking I’d read the times wrong (I hadn’t) I just went home rather than get cold waiting. It was too damp and windy to hang around.

Possibly saved myself money with that decision.
