Gulls

I haven't had the chance to get out much between work and weather and the shortest days of the year.
I went through to Stromness for a short walk, then stopped at Finstown on the way back to Kirkwall. Still hundreds of gulls there so I assume that the shoals of Atlantic Saury are still present as I saw on the 14th. Mainly herring and great black-backed gulls but there were reports of a couple of Nearctic visitors- Iceland and glaucous gulls. I did see a glaucous but just couldn't get a shot of it in the melee, especially when the wintry shower hit.
