SNOW VIGIL

A vigil in the snow - St. Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall

Extra: Across the road, the shops and the Town Hall are barricaded in preparation for the annual 'Ba' games.  The 'Ba' is a rough free-for-all where (it seems like) the whole town is divided into two teams who attempt to get the ball into their end of town.  It is quite dangerous and the participants crush against the buildings as they play.  The shopkeepers and local homeowners put up planks over the windows and doors to prevent them being broken.
