Nothing Happening!

At silly o'clock, the girl left for her flight to Exeter. Never before have we been just two at this time of year. It's very disturbing, but fear not there are 10 of us on Christmas day, albeit that the combined age of 2 is less than 1 year!

Normally, there would be shopping, make ahead gravy, a trip to the allotment for veggies and tatties, stuffing to make, tablecloth to iron. Normally, it would be the rid roond day. But nothing is happening here.

I haunted the house looking for jobs. Sheets and towels were washed - that doesn't take up a day. The sewing project from Japan was completed - still plenty of time left.

I couldn't resist. I walked to the shops and bought cranberries. Well, cranberry sauce is delicious with many things, and making some allowed me to settle, allowed the house to smell like Christmas. That slow, low pop, pop, pop, so familiar. Sherry anyone?
