Cakes and Ale

My brother phoned from Australia this morning, not seen him for thirty years now but when talk it’s like l saw him yesterday. Still doing well at 95.
Was collected early afternoon by Rebecca and family to spend the next few days with them. After delivering a few presents we got to their house and we had tea and cake, see extra.
Then Ronnie had a bath after his muddy walk and wore his snowman towel, see extra.
This evening we have walked to the next village and joined in with the singing of Carols in the local pub carpark, we arrived as the little brass band and the vicar were getting sorted and l took my blip.
We had mulled wine and mince pies then walked home, thankfully the rain held off. One of the best hours of the year.
Now ensconced in their home and just eaten supper, two eldest granddaughters are going out with friends, times change, just as they should.
I plan an early night and will count my blessings.
May l take the opportunity to wish all who celebrate a Happy and Peaceful Christmas. Am thinking of those who are facing a first Christmas without a loved one and those who face an uncertain future.
A reminder of how we need to treasure each moment and in this troubled world to remember those who are really suffering in conflicts around the world. Let’s just be kind to each other : peace starts within each and every one of us x
