Cathy

Cathy is the Post Mistress in the Hoy Post Office - a job she has had for many years. Unfortunately just as we visited today the hydro went off; hence the computer linked to Post Office central shut down. More importantly it looked as though our cup of tea was threatened. However she lit the Rayburn (57 years old) and in no time we had a brew up.

The non-working computer didn't phase her either. There was no panic; she was ready with the dog licences, she still sells the occasional Penny Black.

Being a Thursday we had to take her across a copy of the Orcadian. That's when the pressure's on as she then tests me on the mart prices and the births and deaths.
