The Holly and the Ivy

. A very pleasant crisp and, at times, sunny afternoon for a Boxing Day walk. We circled around the village and came back along Pennypot Lane where the birds were in full song without traffic noises off.  I have a bird song recognition app on my phone and the robin was in full voice along with a nuthatch, great tit and blue tit.  Then home for a very tasty turkey broth.  The main photo was taken just outside our house showing the contrasting colours of red, white and black berries against the deep green of holly. The extra photo is of a bird on a wire - well, it is the time of year for a Hallelujah.
