Yule Log

We went out for Christmas Eve lunch with friends, which was lovely.  The boys happily played Top Trumps while the adults chatted.

The weather when we a arrived and while we ate was atrocious, with very heavy horizontal rain.  We had planned a walk after lunch but enthusiasm was waning fast.  We headed down to Almondell Country Park anyway, and it stopped raining just as we arrived.  We ended up having a lovely hour and a quarter walk up the river and back, all in the dry.  The boys charged around with sticks most of the time, and did at least twice the distance the adults managed!  The adults walked up the main path to the car park, but the boys took a shortcut and when we arrived we found they had acquired the biggest stick of the day - a veritable Yule Log!

A quiet evening followed, with new Christmas pyjamas and goodies left out for Santa.
